Interview with Dr Nakkab

We all want to be the best parents we can be for our children, but there is often conflicting advice on how to raise a kid who is confident, kind and successful. And every aspect of being a parent has been more complicated and more fraught during the pandemic, with parents managing complex new assignments and anxious new decisions, all while handling the regular questions that come up in daily life with the children we love. Throughout the circus act of parenting, it’s important to focus on balancing priorities, juggling responsibilities and quickly flipping between the needs of your children, other family members and yourself. Modern parents have the entire internet at their disposal and don’t follow any single authority. It’s hard to know whom or what to trust. Here, we’ll talk about how to help your child grow up to be a person you really like without losing yourself in the process.

Hello Dr Nakkab , thank you for the time granted for this interview , can you please introduce yourself for those who do not know you ?

​

I am a psychologist, early childhood educator, family coach for children and adolescents for now 30 years.

​

Can you please let us know from your experience the current trend and observations you may have noticed ?

​

Over my long professional career I have had the opportunity to observe many patterns regarding parenting  and have been struck in my last years by the growing number of parents in distress over their kids education.

​

We noticed indeed that a lot of parents are struggling with their kids these days , how can you explain this phenomenon ?

​

Well there is not only one factor unfortunately but if we should summarize the situation, we can consider the rush and stressful lifestyle being the factor number one, the time spent in front of our screens ( television , laptop …) resulting of a lack of communication can be another factor to be mentioned but these are the main ones I can think about now on top of my head but there are so many .

What parents can do during these situations  ?

​

Well to be honest with you on your own without guidance it will be really difficult . Let me clarify my point here with an example . If you write a book, you won’t notice your mistakes unless someone else read your book and hopefully this person will be a professional who will spot your mistakes . Well the same principle apply to education with kids. We are not born being parents we learn to be parents so some parents will make mistakes and some well guided will avoid them .

 

Some parents might think it’s too late now , my son or girl is out of control .What will be your answer to them ?

It is never too late to change if your kid is out of control you must assess the situation and taking corrective actions as soon as possible but only a professional person will manage to guide you through the process because you will never figure out the way to do it yourself, this is how sadly parents get trapped.

​

How your training parenting program is different from others?

​

Our training teaching parenting method is unique and done by professionals to be guided correctly to avoid  these parenting mistakes mentioned earlier.

These methods taught in our program have already been proven around the world and has been implemented with success. Our parenting training program is currently available in English and French, but we are working on producing it on other languages as Spanish.Anyone who has got access to internet can get it.

You will just have to follow all the instructions and principles mentioned to succeed. It will allow you to assess and fix the situation.
